Super Important, Exclusive Opportunity - Private Session with Mind The Gap
Seriously -- Our existential fight for Democracy is only Months Away - aka NOW
Hi All,
Lori Tabuer Marcus and here too, my close friend for 44 years now, and I (who “borrowed” her TV for most of freshman year), are co-hosting a private session with Mind The Gap — to explain their strategic recommendations for the coming election AND to answer OUR Questions in an informal dialogue
I am a huge MTG “super-fan” and a true believer in “one and done” = donate once (bigly) and then ignore ALL calls, texts and emails for political donations, guilt free. AND - Bonus ==>> Many of the MTG recommendations are tax deductible - which is exceptional and uncommon for political donations.
There are NO Minimum or Required Donations to attend. This is NOT a fundraising event.
Below is the invite (from Lori of course … as I’m too relatively under-organized) …
Thank You and Hope to see you there, Bruce

I am co-hosting an information session regarding ways we can each get engaged to help protect our democracy.
I hope you can join us for a conversation with Mind the Gap Executive Director Marissa McBride (formerly of the Voter Participation Center) to discuss evidence-based strategies for holding the White House and winning back the U.S. House in 2024. The virtual event, co-hosted by my friend, Bruce Goldberg and myself, will take place on Tuesday, May 14th at 7:30 PM ET (4:30 PM PT), and is being kept informal so that people can fully engage with the material and ask questions.
If you were involved with Mind the Gap during the last three election cycles, you know rigorous research and quantitative analytics guide their work. If this is your first exposure to Mind the Gap, you’ll have an opportunity to learn more about this approach, their impact over the last three election cycles, and the strategy they are proposing for 2024. In my experience, these discussions leave voters with a greater understanding of the dynamics of our electoral process and new insight into what makes the 2024 election especially complex and dynamic.
If you feel a responsibility, as we do, to make a difference, I hope you will join us to learn more about this important work. If you’re unfamiliar with Mind the Gap, a brief description of their work and impact is below.
Date/Time: Tuesday, May 14th @ 7:30 PM ET (4:30 PM PT)

Note: if you have a few like-minded friends you’d like to include, please forward this invitation, but we ask that you don’t post broadly on social channels. There is some confidential/sensitive information that will be shared. If your friend registers, just ask them to put your name and my name (Lori Marcus) in the field that says “Who invited you to attend”.
If you cannot attend but still wish to learn more about Mind the Gap, please contact Managing Director of Development Mitch Mathias to learn more. mitch@mtg.org
Hope to see you there!
Cheers, LTM,
The Mind the Gap Team
Mind the Gap (MTG) is a pro-bono advisory group that develops investment strategies designed to increase the probability of critical electoral victories, always with the goal of preserving and strengthening our democracy. Drawing on rigorous empirical research, we use an evidence-based approach to identify where additional dollars will have the greatest impact on election outcomes in key races. Mind the Gap shares our analysis and recommendations for free with our network and other allies to generate funds needed to scale high-performing programs.
Mind the Gap was started by a team of academics and political analysts to provide private political donors with guidance on the most cost-effective strategies, tactics, and programs that good science indicates will have an impact in each election cycle. We evaluate promising electoral programs by digging into the data – examining trends over time and the performance of specific tactics in recent elections. We then focus on filling the gaps – in information, funding, and research.
In 2022, Mind the Gap’s focus was on maintaining control of the U.S. Senate and preventing Republican trifectas in battleground states. We achieved 19 wins out of 23 targeted races and chambers including five gubernatorial races, five U.S. Senate seats, and nine state legislative chambers. In 2020, Mind the Gap focused primarily on defeating Donald Trump and secondarily on critical down-ballot races. The programs we identified successfully generated Democratic votes in critical geographies and accounted for a substantial portion of the presidential margin in Arizona, Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.
